Customizing

Wood Choices

We work with American red and white oak as our “preferred” material because of its inherent distinctive bold grain pattern, durability and availability. This doesn't mean we do not produce pieces in walnut, cherry, mahogany, maple and a shopping list of other native hardwoods or a score of exotic wood species on the market.

Contact us at info@caaronwoodwerks.com for a customized proposal with prices on our pieces with your desired wood type and finishing.

Style

We have met with innumerable customer opinions and design concepts that caused most of our pieces to be of a modular design meaning the core element of the piece has the capability of being integrated with your choice of base, top, stain color (or not) and finish. The way you wish to adapt our pieces, the environment they will reside in, the purpose they will serve and the décor they will compliment will dictate the form, color and wood type choice.

Stain Colors

Hardwood in its natural state can vary in color and other natural properties from lot to lot and board to board. If uniformity for a color scheme is desired, we suggest staining your order to maintain a moderate amount of consistency.

Although we will match a specific stain color requirement, we offer the following stain color choices at no additional cost. We use both water-based and oil-based stains, determined by color choice and its ability to achieve the desired result with the chosen wood type.

Representing the actual colors is very difficult due to varying displays and printers we all have. We recommend that you visit your local home center or paint/hardware stores to get a true visual representation of the stain color on your wood choice. Contact us at info@caaronwoodwerks.com for information regarding specific stain manufacturers and color charts used as well as possible additional pricing for stain or paint colors not listed.

Finishes

There are hundreds of possible finish types on the market. Anticipating the most probable adaptation of our pieces, we have chosen a water-based finish that is crystal clear– it does not impart any hue to the final pieces after creation and staining if chosen. The finish is an environmentally friendly water-borne acrylic-urethane that dries to a deep, impervious and luxurious protective coating without that “plastic look”. We use satin as our standard lustre choice. Flat and gloss are available upon request. The brand has passed the Maple Flooring Institute and Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers tests for stain resistance and durability– if it’s good enough for them, it’s perfect for us and ultimately for you.

We will do everything possible to provide other desired finish requests. Contact us at info@caaronwoodwerks.com for possible additional pricing for specific required finishing products.

Our workmanship and finish choice help our pieces to last generations.

New Ideas and Designs

We are often asked to customize one of our designs for a specific promotion or interior decorating purpose. Occasionally we are challenged by a new design offered by a customer and we welcome all inquiries. We started our business making “one-outs” for our customers and will continue that practice until there are no more requests.

Contact us at info@caaronwoodwerks.com for any woodworking challenge you have. If we can’t produce it economically, chances are we may know someone who can and pass you on to them for your project’s completion.

Laser Etching

Commercial buyers/designers and retailers- we now have the ability to brand our products with your logo or tag line. Individuals who want their pieces customized with their names, crests or other text have the same opportunity available.
